BIOGRAPHY
LeeShell Lewis joined ROJA in 2017. She currently assists in coaching the 2007 Premier team, but she also spent two years coaching the Junior Academy team. In addition to coaching, Lewis assists ROJA teams with agility, strength, and conditioning training.
Lewis has an extensive background in child development, including more than 17 years as a Speech-Language Pathologist and 14 years as a Fitness Instructor. Her professional experience has served her well by reinforcing the skills needed to successfully foster a positive training environment and provide the ability to adapt the fundamentals of soccer to all learning styles and ages.
Lewis played soccer from the time she was four years old through high school at Millard South to her freshman year of college at Midland University. She began coaching at Bryan Middle School in 2003 and has played an integral role in helping manage and assistant coach with ROJA since its founding. She enjoys all stages of developing a player, but her passion is working with young females to help them realize their potential, strive to meet their goals, and love the game as much as she has her entire life.
LeeShell is married to Stephen Lewis, coach of ROJA's 2007 team, and is the mother of two children; one son, Adrian who plays for his high school team at Papillion High School, and one daughter, Taryn who is a member of the ROJA 2007 Premier team.
She loves to read, run, bike, spend time with family, and participate in anything outdoors.
Why I coach?
Coaching is more than just teaching a sport. I am passionate about assisting our next generation of females in developing a strong work ethic, perseverance, determination, and self-confidence. I have been teaching group fitness for over 15 years and I love teaching young women the confidence achieved through fitness and knowing what makes their bodies perform physically and provide good emotional balance.
Why did I choose to coach for ROJA?
ROJA aligns with the values I believe in and teach my own children. We are a small club that can provide personal 1:1 time with each girl. Our girls are our family.
